The Fed going bigger for long hasn't slowed down thematic data points
The stock market rally that started last week off fizzled as the latest economic data confirmed inflation remains persistent, the job market is still tight and at least for now, the economy remains solid enough to absorb the Fed’s efforts to fight inflation. That same data cleared the path for the Fed to "go bigger, for longer" and quashed the notion that a Fed pivot could be in the cards. Despite the ensuing give back in the stock market as expectations were once again rethought. While we expect that to happen even further as the September quarter earnings season gets underway, it also comes as no surprise to us that confirming data points for our investment themes, indices, and models continue to be had.
